The Eco Club “Shristi “at BRS conducts a variety of activities to sensitize the students about different environmental concerns and innovative approaches towards an ecologically balanced future.

To make this learning more joyful and interesting, a puppet show ‘Wasteland Tales’ was organized on 3rd November 2015. The idea was to create awareness amongst the primary school students (Grade 1 -4) on different ways to REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE waste.

The Puppet show was a story about a King named “Wastealots”. The main characters were the King, Fairy, Monster and Courtiers. The king was made aware about his responsibilities towards the environment by a chirpy fairy “Clean O’Luna”. As the Monster “Landfill “emerged there was an uproar in the auditorium to take over the Kingdom of Wasteland. It was a sight to witness. It was concluded by a feet tapping song. It reinforced that even small measures make a great difference.

It was an interesting tale and teachers took the center stage and enacted as puppets. Everything from the costumes to the foreground was made out of waste. The show ended with a promise from the students to apply the lessons learnt, in their daily life.
